The Beginning of the 2009 Season

The 2009 Trinity Tiger Football season is well underway, and it should continue to be an exciting season. The Tigers started the 2009 season on August 14th when players reported for two-a-days. We have been working hard throughout the weeks and are hoping the work will pay off in the end. This season we return many important starters on both on offense and defense, with many underclassmen playing, too. We are 3-0 and 1-0 in conference. We started the season on somewhat of an unusual schedule, with the first four games being away. The 2008 season was somewhat of a down year for the Tigers as we climbed up to number eight in the nation in the national polls and finished 8-2 (the two loses being against conference opponents, Millsaps and Centre) and missed the playoffs. This season we are looking forward to add another conference championship to our record and to erase a two year playoff drought. Millsaps College is predicted to win the conference for a second straight season. Trinity was picked as a close second. With conference just starting, it should be an exciting run to end the season with four or final six games being at home.
